Is there anything more satisfying than a filth-to-fab glow-up?
The latest viral sensation sweeping social media is a rug's transformation from "disaster to delight" in mere minutes. The account @mountainrugcleaning, with 1.7million followers, shared a timelapse that has everyone hooked.
It kicks off with the rug looking shabby and absolutely plastered in dingy brown dirt. The clean-up action starts with an intense jet wash that blasts the muck away, then comes the water scraper revealing a peek of the original colour.
Next up, soap and cleaning potions are worked into the fabric with a buffer, digging deep into the grubby fibres. After a rinse of the foamy mix, you see the murky water gushing out – all that nastiness leaving the rug.

With a couple more rounds of blasting and soaping, the white shade of the rug starts to shine through, but more jet wash and suds are on the agenda. The cleaner whips out a blue product and bicarb to finish the job, guaranteeing ultimate freshness.
As the timelapse wraps up, we witness the stunning reveal – a now-sparkling clean rug. Its caption couldn't be more spot-on: "Disaster to delight. Amazing timelapse of this discarded rug being cleaned!"
The post naturally racked up a flood of likes and comments, with one viewer exclaiming: "The part with the blue cleaning products was amazing." Another commented: "It's amazing how much dirt can get into the rug."
A third chimed in: "You had to put it work on that one! Sheesh!" However, some were sceptical about the whole process, suggesting he would have been better off "throwing away the rug". And others thought the entire situation was far too time-consuming.
