Friends fans rejoice as musical based on iconic sitcom comes to UK after Matthew Perry's death

Friends fans have exploded with joy as a stage version of the iconic show is to transfer to the UK.

aired in the USA from 1994 until 2004, forming of 10 seasons and 236 - and made household names out of and In New York City, fans of the sitcom have been able to relive favourite scenes thanks to an "unauthorised" parody musical of the show.

And now British fans of the series can find out what the show is like - as it is due to transfer to London's West End and embark on a nationwide tour. The show is due to arrive on British soil in 2025 and will roll around the country with performances running through 2026.

Producer Mark Goucher said in a statement: “It is great to be back supporting The Barn Theatre. We are looking forward to working with Iwan and his team creating this brand-new production which will then tour the UK and Ireland.”

While West End Theatre reports: "Hit New York and Las Vegas show Friends! The Musical Parody is coming to the UK, prior to a planned West End run. The show will hit the road on a major new tour of the UK and Ireland from July 2025, starting at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester from 14 July to 23 August 2025, and touring to venues including Nottingham, Sunderland, York, Cheltenham, Wolverhampton, Dublin, Cardiff, Chester, Malvern, and Southampton."

The official Friends! The Musical Parody website describes the show as: "The unauthorized comedic musical that lovingly pokes fun at TV’s Friends, celebrating the adventures of your favorite group of 20-somethings as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life and love in 1990s Manhattan.

"It’s a typical day at New York’s only coffee shop, Central Perk, until an unexpected runaway bride bursts in and kicks the whole gang out of second gear! The musical recreates favorite moments from all 10 seasons of Friends through an uncensored, fast-paced, music-filled romp."

Fans that have already seen the show in the USA have lavished the production with praise - with one writing online: "I really enjoyed Friend's The Musical Parody. The cast was great! I loved how one cast member (Chandler) also played multiple roles throughout the show. The actor was practically effortless, which was quite a feat since the show moved at lightning speed. The vocal abilities of the cast were superb, and the fast pace of the show was almost insane. These actors certainly rose to the challenge!"

And another commented: "Overall, it was a good performance. However, the actors were somewhat hard to hear and understand, especially the lyrics during the songs.
