Earlier this year, the channel confirmed the . The show had 16 people competing for the position of power and £100,000 in a format similar to the popular series, The Traitors. The contestants all began as equals before taking a position of power as a Ruler staying at a lavish house.
Others would be Grafters surviving in little conditions in the basement. as some called out its 'dystopian challenges', with one challenge being grafters receiving electric shocks. In a new interview, Greg claimed the show was overly rushed but said the 'idea was good'.
Speaking on Kathy Burke's Where There's A Will, There's A Wake podcast, he said: "Yeah, it came along at the same time as The Traitors... It was made by the same people, actually. And the idea was good. I really enjoyed doing it. I think they rushed it out because we were filming it before the end was shot.

"And I said, 'You should have given it six months and edited this. This could have been really good'. But, you know, these things happen. came along and said, we've got this big TV show. Do you want to do it? I went 'yeah, definitely'." The show was made by Studio Lambert, who also created The Traitors.
Studio Lambert also created The Traitors US, The Circle US, Surviving Paradise, Squid Game: The Challenge and more. Confirming the cancellation earlier this year, a spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "Rise and Fall was a great show that we were very proud of and attracted strong audiences, but Channel 4 is all about the new, and we want to make space for the next great new reality idea.
"We would like to thank Greg and the talented team who made such a hugely fun and innovative show." Greg shared his excitement about hosting the reality programme when the show was first announced. He said: "I’ve been waiting a long time for a show like this to come along that I can get stuck into and be the ringleader of.
"It’s an amazingly mad idea and the contestants are going to make some incredible TV. It’s very exciting to launch something brand new on Channel 4 and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Let the power struggle begin…"
