Liam Payne's heartbreaking One Direction reunion revelation before tragic death

Liam Payne had a chilling revelation about a reunion before his death.

The late 31-year tragically from the balcony of his third floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The star died after suffering Prior to his death, Liam had reunited with his former bandmate, Niall Horan, who had been playing a sold out concert in the Latin American city.

But had been hoping for a full reunion with his former bandmates who announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016, which had originally been scheduled to be an 18-month break. However, the band members did not renew any contracts following the conclusion of their On The Road Again Tour which ended in October just one year prior.

In 2017, the group had folded their touring company and applied to have it removed from Companies House. , 31, famously left the band in 2015 in order to live the life of a "normal 22-year-old." But Liam had always been hopeful that the band would reunite and earlier this year, there were whispers that this could have been a possibility.

Liam previously confirmed that the lads had "started a new group chat," with Niall Horan later confirming: "We've had three or four group chats. Some of them have been more quiet than others. This new one is definitely louder than most, and it's been great I'm sure if I had a look at my phone in a few minutes I'd see some messages."

Following Liam's death, a resurfaced clip of him discussing getting the band back together has emerged on social media. He said: "I think we'll get back together, I think it's a good idea, yeah, 100 per cent. But, it's kind of not on me if that makes sense?" In a heartbreaking twist, he added: "I doubt there'll ever be all five of us again."

Meanwhile, Grammy Award winning Harry Styles confirmed on The Late Late Show with his pal James Corden he would be open for a reunion. He said: "I would never say never to that… If there was a time when we all felt that was what we wanted to do, then I don't see why we wouldn't." Again, Horan echoed Styles' comment and said: "There hasn't been a conversation, but I'm sure if there ever is one, you'll know about it.

"I agree with Harry, same thing as he said." Following the disbandment of One Direction, Payne launched a successful solo career, with his debut single Strip That Down being certified platinum. Following this, he we went on to collaborate with the likes of Zedd, Rita Ora, J Balvin, Jonas Blue, Lennon Sella and Alesso.

Almost one month on from his death, Liam's body returned to the UK on Thursday morning with his dad, Geoff and former security guard, Paul Higgins joining him on his final journey. The group took a British Airways flight from Buenos Aires, with a brief stop in Rio de Janeiro before arriving at London's Heathrow earlier this morning. While no plans have yet been announced for his funeral, it's believed that the family will make an announcement in due course on how fans can honour Liam's life, legacy and global career as one fifth of the world's biggest boyband.
