Netflix fans have declared that it's 'time for a cry' after the streaming platform announced an 'emotional' documentary about the late Avicii will soon be released.
The streaming platform confirmed that Avicii - I'm Tim will explore the life and legacy of Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ and music producer who died in 2018.
It has promised that the doc will feature never-before-seen footage and interviews, while Tim himself acts as narrator.
Reacting to the announcement, many fans shared that it will be an emotional watch for them, as it is confirmed to be released on December 31.
Not only that, but also confirmed that a recording of Avicii's final performance at Ibiza's Ushuaia will also be available to stream from the same date.
Commenting on the Netflix's official page, one fan said: "Oh God, time for me to cry."
Another replied on X, saying: "It's gonna be a big day for Avicii fans. The documentaries sound like they'll really capture his journey."
While one fan reflected: "Wow… this is going to be very emotional. We miss you and your music, Tim."
It's not the first documentary made about the music star, as BBC aired Avicii: True Stories in 2017 that utilised archive footage from Tim and his family's personal collection.
Avicii, born Tim Bergling in Stockholm Sweden, began posting remixes on electronic music forums when he was just 16.
This eventually led to him being offered a record deal and he would go on to find mainstream success with his 2011 release, titled Levels.
He died at the age of 28 in April 2018, while on holiday in Oman.
His family released an open letter in the following days which in part read: "Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.
"Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, The Family."
Avicii - I'm Tim is streaming on Netflix from December 31.
