Initially, the on-field decision was to disallow the goal since Bernardo Silva was thought to be offside and blocking the goalie's view, but referee Chris Kavanagh reinstated the goal after a VAR review at the pitchside monitor.
After the thrilling finish, Guardiola remarked, "We are not used to winning games at the end, like Jurgen Klopp at it many times happened. It is a good flavor for us."
In a , the clarified why Stones' goal stood, saying: "Stones' goal was disallowed on-field due to Bernardo Silva being in an offside position and in the goalkeeper's line of vision.
