fans have continued to be left outraged at featuring in the trailer for the final episodes.
Fans of the show have already been made aware by the Hollywood star that he will not return for the long-awaited final run of episodes that will make up Season 5 Part 2 and conclude the show. However, while ahead of Yellowstone's return to TV this weekend.
John is of course the lead role from the series and the Dutton family patriarch and - including Taylor it seems if the teasers are anything to go by. The heavy feature of Joh has left many fans confused as they lashed out about it on social media.
One shared a gif featuring Kevin as Johnn saying "No honey, everything is not OK," as they wrote: "This is kind of , I’m seeing Yellowstone advertisements on Hulu and they use Kevin Costner in them and… he’s gone?"
However, after Yellowstone director Christina Alexandra Voros gave an update on what's to come in the final episodes it seems she may have hinted that Kevin may be back after all. In a new interview she admitted that John is an "integral" part of the Yellowstone story.
She told The Hollywood Reporter when asked what the set was like without Kevin there: “I don’t know if we were without him. I don’t know!” She then elaborated further adding: “His presence is integral. I think to say any more than that would potentially compromise all the work that went into redacting the scripts! (Laughs).
"But I think the reason people are wondering, ‘Is he, isn’t he? Where is he, where is he not?’ is because he is the patriarch, and his presence is an essential component to the story. John Dutton is still central.”
Viewers are still aware however that Kevin denied he would be involved in a post on where he wrote: "I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that's required. Thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love. I just realized that I'm not going to be able to continue, season five or into the future.
"I loved it and I know you loved it. I just wanted to let you know that I won't be returning. I love the relationships that I've been able to develop. And I'll see you at the movies."
But in an interview with ET in September he teased that maybe he wasn't completely done with John Dutton just yet after all. He said: "Obviously, it can go on, you know, I have children. So, you make the story about them. Who knows, some things have a way of circling back. You know, I haven't seen that dust trail coming toward me.
"But I've always been open to it when I started. Five seasons was a lot for us to do. And I think that story is not finished."
