There’s great news for crores of women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana. The 24th installment of ₹1,250 will soon be credited to the accounts of registered women. As per the latest update from the Madhya Pradesh government, the amount will now be transferred around the 15th of every month, instead of the earlier window between the 1st and 10th.
This change was finalized during a cabinet meeting held in April 2025. The shift in payment timing has been made in alignment with the Union Budget’s fund distribution schedule to the state.
New Date for Fund Transfer: What Has Changed?Until March 2025, the Ladli Behna Yojana installments were credited between the 1st and 10th of each month. However, in April, the 23rd installment was deposited on April 16, signaling the implementation of the new schedule. Going forward, beneficiaries will receive their payments on or after the 15th of each month.
In addition to this, the gas cylinder refill subsidy will also be credited to over 25 lakh eligible women on the same date.
₹1,550 Crore Needed Monthly for the SchemeThe Madhya Pradesh government requires over ₹1,550 crore each month to successfully run the Ladli Behna Yojana. With a recent hike in dearness allowance for government employees and pensioners, the financial demand on the state has increased.
To manage this, the government is awaiting a Union Budget allocation of ₹1.11 lakh crore for FY 2025–26, released in 14 equal installments, generally credited on the 10th of every month. This adjustment in fund flow has led the state to revise the Ladli Behna payment schedule accordingly.
