Apple recently rolled out the stable update of iOS 26 with its new iPhone 17 series. The biggest change with this update was the user interface (UI), which introduced the Liquid Glass design. However, this new design focused heavily on reflection and fluidity rather than a 2D minimalist style, significantly improving both the iPhone's look and user experience.
While this change left many users happy, some were also unhappy. Many users began experiencing difficulty reading notifications after the new update. The company has now introduced a new option to provide more control over this feature. Let's explore this in detail...
A new tinted theme option will be available.
In fact, MacRumors recently reported that Apple has added a new tinted theme option for Liquid Glass in the iOS 26.1 beta version. This means users can now choose to keep the previous clear look or select a new tinted theme. This new tinted theme will significantly reduce the transparency of the UI, making controls and buttons appear clearer. It will also add better contrast to the interface, improving visibility.
How to change the Liquid Glass theme?
If you want to try this new tinted theme after the new update arrives, you'll need to go to your phone's settings.
First, open your iPhone's Settings app.
Next, go to the Display & Brightness section.
Here, you'll see a new Liquid Glass option.
From here, you can choose between a Clear or Tinted theme.
This means that if you set a theme from this page, you'll also see a preview, so you can understand which one looks better before you see the changes. While this feature is currently only in beta, it may soon be rolled out via a stable update.
