Lokesh Kanagaraj’s much-awaited film Coolie finally hit theatres on August 14, marking Rajinikanth’s grand return to the big screen. The release sparked massive celebrations among fans, with many dancing to dhol beats outside theatres and performing traditional rituals like pouring milk over the superstar’s posters.

In some theatres, the excitement reached such heights that the screening was briefly halted during the hero’s entry so fans could celebrate. Social media is flooded with videos of these festivities—fans arriving at cinema halls early in the morning, showering giant Rajinikanth posters with milk, dancing outside theatres, and even grooving on elevators on their way to the screening.

Another viral video shows the audience erupting with cheers, standing up, and dancing as soon as Rajinikanth appeared on screen. More clips capture families posing in front of massive Coolie posters, dancing, and celebrating together.
