While Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have emerged as breakout stars in Mohit Suri’s emotional romantic drama Saiyaara, another name that has quietly grabbed attention is Shaan R Grover—the actor who plays Vaani Batra’s brooding ex-boyfriend in the film. His intense performance as the antagonist has sparked curiosity about who he is beyond the screen.

Shaan R Grover is not new to the entertainment industry. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is both an actor and a producer. He completed his schooling at Modern School and graduated from Jai Hind College in Mumbai. Before stepping into the limelight as an actor, Shaan worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on the Harshvardhan Rane-starrer Sanam Teri Kasam. He later appeared in digital projects like Roohaniyat and RejctX, and played the role of Riyaz in the 2018 TV series PM Selfiewallie.


In an interview with Zoom, Shaan revealed that he has known Ahaan Panday since 2016, when they were both college students trying to find their footing in the entertainment world. Their long-standing camaraderie added a personal touch to their on-screen conflict in Saiyaara, which makes his portrayal of the ex-boyfriend even more layered.

Saiyaara, produced by Yash Raj Films, tells the story of Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician, and Vaani Batra, a young writer battling early-onset Alzheimer's. The film, which explores themes of love, memory, and heartbreak, has been making waves at the box office and is set to stream on Netflix following its theatrical run. Meanwhile, Saiyaara has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.
