Taking away our mid-week blues, Dinesh Vijan's production house, Maddock Films, signs an eight-film deal with OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. From Thama to other films in the horror comedy universe, Param Sundari, Badlapur 2, Shiddat 2, and many more. These titles will be released in theaters between 2025 and 2027. After their theatrical run, the films will stream only on Prime Video and be available to subscribers in over 240 countries and territories.
Major Bollywood films released on OTT
They made this announcement on social media today (August 21) and ever since fans are eagerly looking forward to all the digital releases, if they misses it in theatres. One of the biggest highlights of this is that it includes new additions to Maddock’s much-loved horror-comedy universe, including Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Two other franchise films are also expected to be announced soon. Recently, the makers dropped the official teaser and the film is slated to release on Diwali 2025.
Other exciting titles in the deal include Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, which is set to hit theaters on August 29. Fans can also look forward to sequels like Shiddat 2 and Badlapur 2. For the unversed, Badlapur remains one of Varun Dhawan's most acclaimed films. The sequel announcement has sparked excitement among fans, though further details are still under wraps.
The slate also features Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring newcomer Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahlawat, Dharmendra and Aadyanshi Kapoor in key roles. The makers have announced that the war drama based on Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal’s life will hit theatres on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2.
This move follows the massive success of Stree 2, which performed extremely well on Prime Video and helped grow its fanbase globally. The new deal further strengthens the relationship between Maddock Films and Prime Video, who have already worked together on hits like Stree, Stree 2, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, and the original series Jee Karda.
