Brace yourselves, Shaktimaan fans! India’s first superhero is making a glorious comeback! On Sunday, Mukesh Khanna, who brought the iconic character to life on the small screen, shared a picture of Shaktimaan in his evergreen red and gold uniform on Instagram and added a caption: “It’s Time For Him to RETURN. Our First Indian SUPER TEACHER- SUPER HERO. YES! As darkness and evil prevail over the children of today... It's time for him to return. He returns with a message. He returns with a teaching. For today’s generation. Teaching. Welcome Him. With both hands!!!!! Watch the new teaser."
The teaser, which was shared on the actor’s YouTube channel, shows Shaktimaan at school, checking sketches of various Indian revolutionaries such as Chandrasekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, and Subhash Chandra Bose, and singing, “ Aazadi ke deewanon ne jung ladhi phir jaanein di, ang ang kat gaye magar anch watan par na ane di...”

On Instagram, the teaser gained over 12,000 likes. Many fans expressed joy at the return of their childhood hero. One Instagram user wrote, “Watching your serials a lot in my childhood made my childhood very memorable.” Another gushed, “Proud of our superhero..”
Some however were skeptical. “Comment section in the YouTube link says it all. People are fed up with all your fake promises and lies which you are telling to your 90s kids fan like me. You himself has ruined the legacy of Shaktimaan. A ub kahi Sony wale bhi yeh project shelve na kar de. Too much negative publicity and controversy created by yourself has destroyed the reputation you earned by playing two iconic roles of your life time Bheeshm Pitamah and Shaktimaan. Aub Band karo. Hath jodkar Main Modiji se Gujarish karta hoon woh hi Shaktimaan ka Role le le,” wrote another.
In an interview with ANI, the veteran actor expressed his enthusiasm about getting back into Shaktimaan’s uniform. “This is a costume within me...I think personally, too, in my mind, this costume has come from within me...I did well in Shaktimaan because it came from within me... Acting is all about confidence. I forget about the camera when I am shooting... I am even happier than the others about becoming Shaktimaan again. I am carrying out my duty that I started in 1997 and which went on till 2005. I think that my work should reach the public in 2027 because today's generation is running blindly. They have to be stopped and told to catch their breath,” he told the news agency.
