The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was postponed for a week, given the war-like situation between India and Pakistan. Now there is a plan to start it again. The BCCI is likely to resume on May 16 or 17 with a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Lucknow. According to a report by news agency PTI, the league will start the tournament again with this match to be played on May 9.
A source told PTI, "All the teams have been asked to call back their players, the tournament will resume in Lucknow on May 16 or 17. The final schedule will be shared on Monday."

Matches can be held at four places.
It has also been reported that the remaining matches will be played at four venues, and now there will be no matches in Delhi and Dharamsala. The source further said, "It is likely that the matches will be played at four venues, and now there will be no matches in Delhi and Dharamsala. All the equipment has already been removed from these venues." IPL 2025 was officially postponed by a week. On May 8, the 58th league match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium was stopped after 10.1 overs. It was stopped due to the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. According to PTI, the PBKS-DC match will not be replayed, and both teams will be given one point each.
7 teams in the playoff race
A total of 7 teams, including Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants, are currently in the race for the IPL 2025 playoffs. GT and RCB will advance if they win one of their remaining three league matches, while PBKS can also qualify for the playoffs for the first time in 11 years if they win one of their remaining league matches.
As far as MI and DC are concerned, they will qualify directly if they win their remaining league matches. The qualification status of KKR and LSG will depend on the results of the other teams as well as their performance.

Difficult challenge before BCCI
It may be a difficult task for BCCI to call back foreign players who have seen war-like situations between India and Pakistan this season of the IPL. Australia's cricket team's star bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have already decided to withdraw from the tournament. They are withdrawing their names due to injury or personal reasons. This may also affect the other players. However, no one has any doubt about the Indian Army and the security provided here.
