Team India pacer Harshit Rana heaped praise on ODI skipper Rohit Sharma while recalling how he spoke to him like a true mentor when he had travelled to Sri Lanka for the ODI series. Rana received his maiden ODI call-up to Team India during Sri Lanka tour where he got to play alongside Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Speaking on The Ranveer Show, Rana recalled the moment, stating, "On my first tour to Sri Lanka, Rohit bhai called me and spoke to me for 20–25 minutes. He explained so many things, and as I was leaving, I thought it’s my first time here and he already taught me so many valuable things."

During the episode, Rana also gave an insight into what players can learn from Rohit Sharma. He revealed, " When you play with Rohit , he will give you such a mindset that you will understand when you have to do what. When you are in the field, he will explain everything that you have to do at this time. So, since you are spending time with him, you are growing with him as well.

Harshit Rana career so far
Rana gained recognition for his performances with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), playing a key role in their 2024 IPL title win. He debuted in Test cricket during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Rana made his T20I debut against England this year, replacing Shivam Dube as the concussion substitute in the 4th T20I.
He made his ODI debut for India against the same side (England)on February 6, 2025, in Nagpur. He had taken 3 wickets for 53 runs in that match. Rana has played seven matches so far in his international career, picking up 17 wickets across formats. Rana capped his meteoric rise by winning the ICC Champions Trophy.
