Enterprise tech major Tally Solutions has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) to foster innovation among startups in the state.
In a statement, the company said that it will collaborate with the startup mission to offer business management solutions and learning sessions to startups on topics such as customer retention and acquisition, competition analysis, and building growth strategies.
Under the pact, the two sides will also look to bolster technology adoption among “emerging businesses” and offer technology training to new-age tech companies in the state.
“This partnership with Tally Solutions is a pivotal step for the Kerala Startup Mission. By focusing on skilling and technology training, we will equip start-ups with the essential knowledge and tools to thrive in today’s digital economy,” KSUM’s CEO Anoop Ambika said.
Commenting on the partnership, Tally Solutions’ chief marketing officer (CMO) Jayati Singh added, “We are excited to collaborate with Kerala Start-up Mission and our association is aligned with Tally’s vision to nurture the entrepreneurs’ ecosystem in India. This strategic collaboration is not just about technology adoption; it’s about fostering a robust ecosystem where innovation thrives”.
Incorporated in 2015, KSUM is Kerala’s nodal agency, which aims to support the startup ecosystem by providing resources such as infrastructure, incubators and accelerators, skilled talent creation, funding, government support, international collaborations and more.
Earlier this year, the state government towards the ‘Kerala Startup Mission’ to fuel startups in the state. Of this, INR 20 Cr was set aside for the establishment of a ‘Technology Innovation Zone’ in Kochi, while the remaining was allocated for the youth entrepreneurship development programmes.
In July, the state government also to promote the state as a global generative AI (GenAI) hub. At the time, Industries Minister P Rajeeve said that the state would roll out a dedicated AI policy, complying with the ESG (environmental, social, and governance) goals during this fiscal year itself.
As per Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade’s (DPIIT), , Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu emerged as the best performers.
According to , over 4,000 startups were launched in Kerala between 2016 and 2021. During this period, the state attracted a total venture capital inflow of $551 Mn across 110 funding transactions and created more than 40,000 employment opportunities.
