Arsenal are exploring their options ahead of launching a bid for Eberechi Eze and may try to offer Crystal Palace a defensive player in part-exchange for the England star in any deal.
The Gunners are intent on refreshing their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign after finishing second in the title race for a third successive year. And with a deal for a new No 9 in Viktor Gyokeres now advancing, the club are continuing to work on other deals in the background.
An elite left winger is also wanted before the transfer window shuts at the end of next month and Eze, 27, had originally been touted as a target.
But while it is understood that Rodrygo of Real Madrid is now Arsenal's first-choice left winger target, the Gunners want to sign Eze, too.
Arsenal are trying to work out a plan to finance all the deals they want to close this summer and The Sun claim they believe Palace would consider taking a player in part-exchange for Eze, which would help drive the overall price of any package down.

While the outlet doesn't name the player being considered in question, they claim that the FA Cup winners could be tempted by the offer of a promising defender moving in the opposite direction to their talisman.
Reports on Monday indicated that Arsenal were 'working' on a payment structure which would allow them to proceed with a move for Eze as well as their other planned deals.
The club have already spent £55million on Martin Zubimendi, plus a further £5m on Kepa Arrizabalaga. Christian Norgaard is expected to arrive for a cool £15m, while Sporting are currently said to be demanding £70m to sell Gyokeres.

Eze has two years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park but has a release clause worth £68m. Palace are unlikely to consider selling him for less than that sum, given that is around the figure they value him.
There is also believed to be other interest in Eze, who has been a long-term target for Tottenham. Talk of a move to Spurs has cooled, though, in recent weeks.
Arsenal are expected to confirm the capture of Norgaard as their third summer signing shortly after wrapping up deals for Kepa and Zubimendi. Talks over a blockbuster deal which would see Gyokeres follow them through the door are ongoing, with the Sweden international desperate to quit Sporting for the Gunners.
