Harriet Dart has said sorry for requesting that an umpire have a word with during their first-round clash of the Rouen Open.
The British No. 4 was overheard saying: "She smells really bad," in reference to her French rival while on court on Monday, in a match she eventually conceded 6-0, 6-3. While Dart's comment seemed without malice and was whispered when Boisson was not within hearing distance, the pro hastened to to make amends.
She posted on her story: "I want to apologise for what I said on court today. It was a heat-of-the-moment comment that I truly regret. That's not how I want to carry myself, and I take full responsibility.

"I have a lot of respect for Lois and how she competed today. I'll learn from this and move forward." Boisson, with a sense of humour, took to her own Instagram to address the incident by superimposing a deodorant can onto an image of her in action and tagged Dove to suggest "a collab". Following on from that, we've looked at Dart's life on and off the court.
A Katie Boulter clashBoth Dart and fellow British player Katie Boulter have been eyeing the pinnacle of UK tennis throughout their careers, leading to a fierce contest between them. And at 2023's Nottingham Open, it looked like tensions were heading towards boiling point.
Boulter secured a win of 6-3, 7-5 before gesturing towards her temple with her finger, signalling to her support box – a move that ticked off Dart who revealed her feelings with a brisk handshake and an exchange at the net shortly after. Dart went on to describe Boulter's actions as "unprofessional" while Boulter insisted her gesture was routine, saying it's something she does "after every match" and it wasn't meant to be personal.

The strife between them seems to have been mended with Dart emerging victorious over Boulter at in 2024, where their encounter ended with a warm embrace. They've also been teammates representing Great Britain at the multiple times, proving successful as a pair.
A rant with an umpireAt Wimbledon in 2022, Dart ignited controversy during her match against Jessica Pegula. Although she won the first set 6-4, she couldn't maintain momentum as the game progressed, and lost 6-3, 6-1.
However, it was the concluding play that really caused a stir. Dart was incensed when Pegula made a late challenge on match point, leading to Hawk-Eye siding with the American. This resulted in Dart vehemently protesting to umpire Paula Vieira Souza about the timing of the call, but her complaints were ultimately unavailing as she was knocked out of the competition.
An astounding net worthAmassing over £2.1million in prize money throughout her tennis career to date, Dart boasts an impressive net worth thanks to her exploits on the court. With five ITF singles titles and a solid 351-281 win-loss record, she's already made quite the splash in the tennis scene.
Adding to her financial wins, meanwhile, are high-profile sponsorship and endorsement deals with renowned companies like Asics, Vitamin Well, and Yonex - potentially padding out her earnings even more.
Relationship with Stephen FalckDart has been dating software engineer Stephen Falck since June 2022, and the couple went Instagram official not long after. Hailing from Norway, Falck's background isn't just in tech – he's dabbled in the fashion industry, lending his skills to top-tier brands such as , HandM, and as a model.
Gushing about her partner, Dart has previously said: "God, I'm honestly so grateful he came into my life. He has been a really positive impact. He's so supportive of everything that I do. Now he's travelling with me full-time, which is really great.
"For someone to have no ego in anything, he's very happy to support wherever he can. Now he has actually taken over the role as my agent, which has been really good and really fun. It's been so nice that he's always there for me no matter what, through the good and bad.
"We barely talk about tennis anyway. Now we just talk when we have professional things. At home we never speak about tennis. He used to be in fashion. He was a model. Yeah, he also has a law degree."
