The crisis that looks to be unfolding at Manchester United seems to be worsening by the day. After their stunning second-round Carabao Cup exit to League Two Grimsby Town, United were comfortably beaten 3-0 in the Manchester Derby at the weekend.
This season was supposed to herald a new dawn for United's under-fire manager Ruben Amorim after their 15th-placed finish last season, coupled with their crushing Europa League final defeat by Tottenham Hotspur.
Yet despite a host of new signings, Amorim is again under increasing scrutiny. United are currently 14th in the league with just one win in four, which came via a late penalty against newly-promoted Burnley before the international break.
With a new sack warning rearing its head and an ex-United player making a "criminal" claim, Mirror Football brings you the latest updates from Old Trafford.
Amorim's sack warningFormer United goalkeeper Ben Foster has made a major claim about Amorim's position in the Red Devils' hot seat. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Foster believes Amorim is already in the owner's sights for the sack, and actions are in motion, but nobody at Old Trafford wants to pull the trigger on the Portuguese boss.

Foster said: "It’s already rumbling. It’s already there. It’s been rumbling for a long time. Nobody just wants to really commit to it. But I guarantee you, if, after eight games, they’ve got eight points and they’re still in 14th or 15th position, somebody’s gonna have to pull the trigger because it can’t carry on like that because it’s been proven now. It’s nearly a year since he’s been the manager. It won’t work."
United started the Manchester derby with Altay Bayındir between the sticks, despite signing goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day for £18.2million. Previous No. 1 Andre Onana also left the club on loan for Turkish side Trabzonspor.
However, ex-United midfielder Scholes maintains that it is a "criminal offence" if United were not interested in Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer. City eventually completed the signing of PSG's Champions League-winning keeper for just £27m, with the Italian impressing against United on Sunday.
"I don't think the quality is there [in the side]," Scholes told the BBC. "Goalkeeper was a major issue. Did they really need to get to the Grimsby game to realise [Andre] Onana is not good enough?
"If Manchester United were not in the market for Gianluigi Donnarumma when he became available, that is [a] criminal offence. The recruitment side went to buy forwards. That did need addressing, but did it need three of them? I'm not sure it did."

Speaking of Amorim's now-infamous commitment to his 3-4-3 system, a formation many believe will cost the 40-year-old his job, Scholes insisted United's manager must change his tactics.
"He cannot carry on playing this way, he just can't," Scholes said. "At some point there has to be a moment where he thinks, 'I have to change something because what I am doing now is not working and I am not getting results.
"The proof is there. I like Amorim, with everything he says, he seems to be a likeable man. But unfortunately results paint a picture." Up next for Amorim and United is a home clash with Chelsea on Saturday, September 20.
