Milena Brandão, a Brazilian child actress, has died at the age of 11 after suffering multiple cardiac arrests. The young actress was rushed to a health unit following severe .
She was hospitalised in a serious condition. Just days before her untimely death on Friday (2 May), her mother, Thays Brandão, revealed that doctors had diagnosed Milena with a brain tumour.
She was initially admitted to the hospital on 29 April. Reports suggest she was first treated for dengue – a viral disease causing sudden fever and joint pains.

Milena reportedly died after experiencing 21 cardiorespiratory arrests. In the wake of her daughter's death, who had amassed 196,000 followers on , Thays shared a heartfelt message expressing her grief.
Grieving mother Thays Brandão shared the heartbreaking news on Friday, telling her late daughter's 196,000 followers: "The memories we spent together will remain in my memory and I'll never forget your joy that was contagious to everyone around you.
"My girl, I'm already missing you not being here and I know I'll miss you even more in the days to come. You were the light in our lives and I know that from up there you'll continue to watch over us and light up our lives. And I'll love you forever, and you'll always be in my heart."
Thay later shared a collection of videos and pictures taken throughout Milena's life and captioned them: "Our eternal little angel went to shine in the sky."
"Very hard to forget Millena's beautiful smile, but she will always be in our thoughts," one Instagram user commented underneath the moving montage. Another added: "Beautiful little princess, may you be in the lap of your father in heaven and keep shining wherever you are...
Milena, who passed away at the Grajaú General Hospital, in São Paulo, Brazil, was known for participating in the soap opera The Childhood of Romeo and Juliet.
