A security guard has explained exactly what to do if you believe you're being followed by a stranger - and it could evensave your life. The anonymous woman explained how she used to work as a security guard at a large shopping centre and was trained how to "spot and track people" who looked like they were up to no good.
On Reddit, she said: "When I worked security at a large mall, we were trained on how to spot and track people in parking garages. Something I noticed: people who just kept walking straight were the easiest to follow, even in dim light. You could see their silhouette from far away."
Instead, she says it's much harder to track someone who used angles to their advantage - and would purposely distort their movements by 'hiding' behind objects or corners.
She added: "The ones who were harder to track weren’t running or acting suspicious they’d simply use the angles of parked cars.
"Walking diagonally between rows, pausing near vehicles, or even doubling back unexpectedly made them almost disappear from sight.
"Most people’s eyes are tuned to notice a straight, consistent movement in open space. Breaking that rhythm even slightly makes it way harder to keep eyes on you."
Adding to her message, one users shared an extra safety tip that could work to deter anyone from following you even in broad daylight.

They said: "Be on the phone with someone. No shame in calling up a homie and saying, 'Don't feel right around here. This is where I am, please chat with me until I pull out of here.'
"If you are a guy with normal guy friends they might give you a little s*** but if they are a legit friend, they will happily chat with you for five minutes while you get your car and pull off."
Another user added: "I have a technique that I use - act bat*** crazy. Talk to yourself loudly about crazy stuff. Yell, raise your arms, box the air, cuss. Weave from side to side. No one wants to fool with a crazy person."
A third user said: "Walk between cars, 90 degrees turns offer a moment to look behind you very naturally.
"Stop to pretend to check your face in any side mirror while actually looking through the car windows back towards suspected threat location
"It also looks like you have reached your car, you can just stop there and look around for as long as you like, people do that next to their own cars
"Finally, if you think there is a threat, push a few bonnets and get some car alarms ringing."
If someone is acting towards you in a way that makes you feel scared, distressed or threatened, you can report it to police.
