Ayodhya is all set for a spectacular Deepotsav celebration, with plans to illuminate 55 ghats along the Sarayu River using over 2.5 million oil lamps. This year’s event is expected to be the grandest ever, with more than 32,000 volunteers contributing to the preparations. The festival aims to break a world record, with a team from Guinness World Records present to verify the feat.

As part of the preparations, over 2 million lamps have already been arranged, and 95% of the decoration work on the ghats is complete. For the first time, 10,000 people will be allowed to participate directly in the event, with a special viewing gallery being constructed at Ram Ki Paidi for attendees.

In comparison to last year, when 51 ghats were illuminated, this year will see lamps lit on 55 ghats, adding to the grandeur of the event. SS Mishra, the Nodal Officer for Deepotsav, said, “Preparations are progressing rapidly. This year, Lord Ram will be seated in a grand palace, and the festival will be celebrated on an even larger scale.”

The Deepotsav this year holds special significance as it is the first one after the consecration of Balak Ram at the temple. The state government is ensuring that this year's celebration is historic and unforgettable.

On October 30, the day before Diwali, Ram Nagari aims to break another world record by having 30,000 participants light around 2.8 million lamps simultaneously. The Guinness World Records team will arrive on October 29 to oversee the preparations, using drones to count the lamps on the 55 ghats.

The team will be present during the festival to witness the record-breaking attempt and will present an official certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
