Israeli Airstrikes Devastate Northern Gaza Amid Growing Global Outcry

Israeli airstrikes targeted six buildings in Beit Lahia, a city in northern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 45 people. The raids came amid a rising international call for intervention, as organizations and officials press for an end to violence against civilians in the Gaza Strip. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) urged the United States to stop what it described as a "systematic extermination" of people in Gaza.

Israeli forces also launched airstrikes on southern Beirut, having issued evacuation warnings to residents of several neighborhoods. In parallel, Iran mourned the loss of four soldiers following Israeli attacks. Iran’s government described the physical damage as "limited," though it condemned the aggression.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli operations in Gaza have led to the deaths of over 42,847 individuals and injured more than 100,544. The region has seen severe disruption, with at least 1,139 people reported killed in Israel due to Hamas-led actions and over 200 individuals taken captive. The northern region of Gaza has particularly felt the impact, as escalating attacks have halted the operations of the Palestinian Civil Defense, leaving civilians increasingly vulnerable.

Medhat Abbas, Director-General of the Gaza Health Ministry, noted that over 900 Palestinians had been killed in recent weeks as Israel intensified its military activities in northern Gaza. He highlighted the situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital, the last operational hospital in the region, where most doctors have either been killed or fled, leaving only three physicians to continue emergency care for a rapidly increasing number of casualties.

Hamas condemned the international community for its failure to stop the violence, asserting that the ongoing actions have left Gaza's healthcare system in critical condition. Abbas referred to the situation as "genocide" due to the severe and targeted damage to healthcare infrastructure.

The Israeli military reportedly implemented a “Generals' Plan” in northern Gaza, deploying substantial military resources to further isolate the region. This plan includes blocking humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands and designating areas as "closed military zones," effectively permitting aggressive force against civilians.

The intensifying military campaign has drawn mounting global criticism. On Saturday, CAIR renewed its appeal to the United States, Israel's primary ally, to intervene to prevent further casualties among Gaza’s civilian population.
