A massive fight erupted in Manchester on Halloween night (October 31) at Piccadilly Gardens. Police are investigating sickening footage circulating on social media that shows a group of people attacking two others, Manchester Evening News has reported.
The clip captures chaotic scenes of people kicking and punching each other amid a crowd of onlookers, many of whom were filming on their phones. A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said officers were aware of the incident and are "reviewing the footage".
The footage opens in the middle of the brawl, showing two individuals repeatedly striking another person. One of them, wearing only shorts, continues to fight the same person. At one point, a hooded figure enters and strikes both the shirtless individual and their companion, who then become involved in a separate confrontation. Towards the end, the topless individual is shown with blood streaming from a facial wound as others appear to attack them, including one person striking them with a crutch.
"This is going off," the person who is filming the scene is heard to say. A man wearing a Christmas hat is seen watching the violence unfold. As the two walk away from Piccadilly Gardens, they are followed. The footage then ends.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We are aware of video footage circulating, which is currently being reviewed."
One person involved in the fight, YouTuber Cozzy Media, said he was filming the two people before a drink was thrown on him and he was attacked.
"It escalated. I was punched and kicked," he said.
He went on: "Piccadilly Gardens is a dangerous area. I've seen two females and tried to diffuse the situation. It escalated in a minute. I've tried to help them and I was attacked. I just hope everybody involved is ok."
Asked about a moment captured later in the incident, when he was caught punching the larger of the two in the head, Cozzy Media said: "I had concussion. I was confused. I had just been leathered.
"They threatened to stab me. I should have just walked away. I didn't know what was going on. I didn't even know about that until I saw it (online) after."
