The reason behind 's omission from the squad against Newcastle in the has been revealed. The 24-year-old made an impressive start to life at Stamford Bridge following his loan move from Manchester United but has since fallen off the radar.
Sancho registered three assists in his first three games for Chelsea but has been named on the bench in their last two Premier League fixtures. He would have been hoping to feature against Newcastle but was surprisingly left out of the matchday squad.

Maresca explained that Sancho was dropped for 'technical and tactical reasons' and urged him to keep working hard on the training ground in order to earn his place back.

"Not for any different reason, but just for a tactical and technical decision. No more than that. For sure, because of the amount of games, he is going to play many games and the only thing he has to do is to continue to work hard. When we give him the chance, take it."
Quizzed on his team selection against , Maresca added: "I'm always worried. I'm always concerned about the other team. Tomorrow will be the same. We just played two days ago and we know how good they are.
"Away, they are probably even more [dangerous] because of the environment. We have a session today. We will see in today's session and then make a decision tomorrow."
