There's nothing more frustrating than a stained oven that refuses to shine, no matter how hard you scrub or what heavy-duty products you try. Grease, burned food, and stubborn grime can seem impossible to remove, but there is one solution that might already be sitting in your bathroom. However, there is one surprising product that could be incredibly helpful.

Most people think of shaving cream as something meant only for the bathroom, but it turns out it can work wonders beyond your morning routine. According to the cleaning YouTube channel, , which has over 3,4K subscribers, shaving cream is a "super amazing cleaning hack" that produces "amazing results."

In one video, the creator applies a generous layer of traditional foaming shaving cream to the inside of her oven. After letting it sit for an hour, she scrubs it clean using water. The result is a noticeably fresher and cleaner surface with significantly reduced staining.

Even before scrubbing, the content creator noticed the shaving cream reacting to the grime. In some areas, the grease started to shift, changing colour in a way that reminded her of how baking soda reacts when breaking down dirt which she described as being a "promising" sign.

What really surprised the YouTuber, though, was its effect on a stubborn stain that had been there for nearly a year.

She said: "I've tried a hundred different things to clean it and I can actually see that the shaving cream is pulling up some of the stain in the middle which is crazy to me that this is the thing that's going to take it off."

She added that the results "exceeded her expectations by far."

Shaving cream contains mild surfactants, the same types of ingredients used in household cleaning products. These surfactants help lift dirt and grime by breaking the bond between greasy residues and surfaces.

The foam texture allows it to cling to the oven walls and floor longer than liquid cleaners, giving the active ingredients time to work.

Unlike harsh oven sprays that often contain strong chemicals and fumes, however, traditional shaving cream is gentler, more affordable, and safer to use, especially in homes with children or pets. It's also less likely to damage the enamel coating of your oven.

While baking soda and vinegar are popular natural alternatives, shaving cream offers a less messy option with no mixing required.
