A cost-savvy mum has taken to social media to share her 2p life hack to beat stubborn grime on .
The tip to tackle hard-to-remove stains could save home bakers "a fortune" as it transforms pans to appear brand new.
The savvy doesn't call for harsh chemical cleaners or hours of scrubbing. Instead all that's needed is some warm soapy water and a coin.
Keen cleaner Louise Wright took to a Facebook group to share her results, and the post quickly gathered a flood of likes and comments praising the "game-changing" advice.
In a Facebook post to a cleaning group Hinch Army Cleaning Tips, the woman warned: "Don't bin baking trays."
She added: "I spend a fortune on baking trays because I buy the cheaper range and they don't last long before being marked by tough cooking stains. But, I tried the 2p trick going about and it worked."
The post was accompanied by before and after pictures of her baking trays, showing a startling difference between a grubby sheet pan and a sparkling clean tray.
Louise explained: "Rub the baking tray with the 2p coin and then wash as you would with daily dishes. It works, takes away the burnt marks left from baking and cooking.
"No more binning and replacing - amazing!"
The cleaning hack involves gently scraping the surface of the baking tray with the edge of a 2p coin to help lift stubborn food debris burnt onto the surface.
The thrifty tip could save households from spending on costly chemical cleaning products, with the average UK family spending close to £150 on cleaning products each year.
Kitchen cleaning sprays advertised to remove stubborn build-up on cooking trays often retail for upwards of £5 per bottle, and the heavy-duty sponges needed to apply such chemicals cost between £2 and £10 each.
