Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have donated to help people in the Caribbean after Hurricane Melissa caused destruction earlier this week. The hurricane, which saw winds reach 185mph, tore through Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas.
As well as killing over 30 people, the hurricane has destroyed homes, schools and hospitals. Since the hurricane, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have issued a statement through their Archewell Foundation.
The couple are believed to be upset by what has happened across the Caribbean, especially in Jamaica, where they last visited in 2024.
They have also said that the disaster has shown the "power of community in its truest form", saying "when everything else falls apart, that's what holds".
In a statement on their Archewell Foundation website, the couple also praised the World Central Kitchen organisation, which they havesupported in the past including during the Californian wildfires.
Harry and Meghan wrote: "We've been so moved, once again, by the work of World Central Kitchen, whose teams showed up immediately to serve hot meals to thousands of families, and they're far from alone.
"Aid workers, first responders, volunteers from organizations large and small - they've all dropped everything to help. Their commitment is extraordinary."
They continued: "These communities need our support now. We've donated, and ask you to give whatever support you can, large or small, because every little helps."
Harry and Meghan have also listed a number of organisations that are currently helping with the relief effort following the hurricane.
Their statement concluded: "Whether you can give financially, donate supplies through NYC drop-off sites, or simply share these resources - it all matters."
