Silent Witness star Liz Carr takes savage swipe at BBC after exit

Actress Liz Carr didn't hold back her thoughts on the when appearing on the most recent instalment of While speaking to host the 53-year-old discussed her most recent endeavours. At the start of June, fans can see Liz on stage in the play The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs.

She commented: "My real love is being in front of an audience. It's the immediate feedback, it's the applause! The joy of laughter and connecting with people.

"But, also if you go and do a TV series, you turn up on the first day and you start filming and you don't get rehearsals. Whereas with a play, you get a few weeks just to be together and work it out. I love that side of it."

However, Liz was quick to tell Matt that her opinion on going on stage has nothing to do with the financial side.

She confessed: "Theatre never has any money, if you want money, do TV and films. Not on the ! Because that's, yeah.."

Matt didn't hesitate to laugh at her blunt remark and replied, "I question that."

Liz continued that she's fond of doing theatre due to the creativity it allows you to have. She told Matt it's a thrilling experience as it's live, so anything can happen."

The actress, who is diagnosed with a condition called arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, played forensic examiner Clarissa Mullery on Silent Witness.

Speaking about her decision to leave last year, Liz told Radio Times: "The job was a joy. Clarissa was very loved, and I don't take the experience or the support that I got in that role for granted at all.

"But I wanted to see who else I could play. Silent Witness took nine months a year, so it did cut out an awful lot of projects that I would have loved to do.

"I was starting to almost resent that, because I wanted to do other things."
