Hot weather conditions are likely to make a return to the UK as the latest maps suggest the temperature levels soaring as high as 24C in September. According to WXCharts maps, several parts of the country are likely to experience the warmer conditions on September 10, leaving 10 cities impacted by the hot blast.
Meteorological summer officially comes to an end on August 31, with autumn kicking in on September 1. However, the weather charts show many areas sweltering in the hot weather even during the month of September. The highest temperature of 24C will be seen in areas around Bristol, Gloucester and Bath, the weather maps have suggested.

However, the warmer conditions will have an impact on other cities such as London, Birmingham, Luton, Oxfordshire, that will see the mercury levels oscillating between 20-21C. The rest of England is predicted to hover between 19-20C in the South East, South West, Wales, the Midlands and the North East
Even the parts of Scotland are likely to experience the temperature levels in double digits with areas such as Edinburgh, Inverness, Aberdeen and Glasgow witnessing the highs of 14C on September 10.
It comes as the UK witnessed four heatwaves throughout summer 2025, making it overall the warmest summer on Met Office records. Summer 2025 has officially outpaced the UK's previous warmest summer on record, which was set in 2018 with an average temperature of 15.76C. This year, the seasonal average has climbed to approximately 16.13C, marking a significant rise and underscoring the persistent warmth that has defined the past few months.
But, the Met Office has predicted a "wet and windy" start to autumn, with "no sign" of a return to prolonged heat or dryness. It stated: "There is no signal for a return to high pressure, another heatwave, or a prolonged dry spell in the near future."
The Met Office's long-range forecast between September 2 and 11 reads: "Changeable and unsettled weather conditions are expected across the UK during this period with low pressure systems tending to dominate the overall pattern.
"This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect the majority of the UK at times. Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west.
"Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier and more settled weather are also possible at times, especially later in the period.
"Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells."
