The world's best airline has announced more flights to a "cheap luxury" hotspot in a win for British tourists. Qatar Airways will launch two extra flights a day from London Heathrow to Doha, taking the total up from eight to 10.
It also operates flights to the Qatari capital from Manchester Airport, which will increase from 21 a week to 24. Flights typically take around eight hours and are often used as a layover point for people going on to Asia and Australia. Elsewhere in Europe, travellers flying from Madrid, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Dublin will also benefit from more flights.
The airline regularly tops lists of the best airlines in the world, with it recently being crowned once again at the Skytrax awards, known as the aviation Oscars.
It will also launch flights from Melbourne and restart flights from the Aussie capital, Canberra, this winter.
Qatar Airways chief commercial officer Thierry Antinori said the expansion comes as the carrier sees increasing demand from around the world.
He said: "Qatar Airways is consistently witnessing a steady rise in demand for our five-star services to some of the most prominent destinations in the world, most notably for London, Dublin, Cape Town, and São Paulo."
The rise in popularity comes as people choose Doha for its status as "cheap luxury", with presenter Josie Gibson raving about the city and its hotels.
She told Sun Travel: "I was really taken back by Doha, they had some of the best hotels I've ever been to.
"In London, they'd be something like £1,000 a night, but in Doha, you're only looking at £200 - it's very much a cheap luxury."
