Patna: Ahead of the high-stakes bypolls in Bihar, Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor revealed how much he charges political parties as a fee for advising as an election strategist. Kishor said that he is capable of funding his party's campaign for the next two years. While campaigning in Belaganj, Prashant Kishor said that people often ask him how he is funding the campaign of Jan Suraaj. He said that he charges over Rs 100 crore as fee for advising any political party or leader as an election strategist. He said that no one charges a fee equivalent to him in entire Bihar, adding that governments in around 10 states are running on the strategies formulated by him. "Do you think I won't have enough money to set up tents and canopies for my campaign? Do you think I’m that weak? In Bihar, no one has heard of fees like mine. If I advise someone in just one election, my fee is Rs 100 crore or even more. For the next two years, I can continue to fund my campaign with just one such election advice,” Prashant Kishor said while addressing a gathering. “Ten governments in different states are running on my strategies,” he added. On October 2, Kishor announced the launch of his political outfit Jan Suraaj Party, a much-anticipated move by which he hopes to take the political landscape in Bihar by storm. The party was floated exactly two years after Kishor had embarked on a more than 3,000-km-long ‘padayatra’ of the state, from Champaran where Mahatma Gandhi had launched the first Satyagraha in the country. Kishor has asserted that Jan Suraaj is an attempt to mobilise the people for a “new political alternative” that could cure Bihar of its chronic backwardness. The party has fielded candidates on 4 seats in the upcoming bypolls - Belaganj, Imamganj, Ramgarh amd Tarari. The by-elections are scheduled for November 13, with results to be declared on November 23.
