MG Motor India Announces Price Hike for Hector and Hector Plus SUVs

New Delhi: MG Motor India has announced a price hike for its Hector and Hector Plus SUV models. The MG Hector has seen a price increase of up to Rs 22,000 while the Hector Plus price increased up to Rs 30,000. The exact hike varies based on the variant and engine options. The entry-level MG Hector Style remains priced at Rs 13.99 lakh for petrol and Rs 17.30 lakh for diesel, while all other variants have seen a price hike. Petrol variants have seen price hikes by Rs 16,000-20,000 and diesel by Rs 18,000 to 22,000. MG Motor has reduced price on the Hector by Rs 1 lakh earlier this year. So, the MG Hector now starts at Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 18.43 lakh for petrol and Rs 17.30 lakh to Rs 22.24 lakh for diesel (ex-showroom). Talking about the MG Hector Plus, the three-row SUV sees a price increase of Rs 20,000-23,000 for petrol-manual variants, Rs 24,000-25,000 for petrol-automatic, and Rs 20,000-30,000 for diesel. The entry-level Hector Plus Select Pro variant has also increased in price. The Hector Plus now starts at Rs 17.30 lakh and goes up to Rs 22.93 lakh for petrol, while the diesel range is priced from Rs 19.82 lakh to Rs 23.08 lakh (ex-showroom).Both the Hector and Hector Plus are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 141 bhp, or a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 168 bhp, paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT for petrol, and a 6-speed manual for diesel. Feature highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, LED reading lights, a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and connected car technology. The MG Hector competes with the Tata Harrier, Mahindra Scorpio-N, and Jeep Compass, while the Hector Plus takes on the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar.
