There may not be any statistic to prove it, but open marriages seem to be on the rise. More and more couples eventually opt for open marriages, because they feel they’re either not compatible with each other, or they feel it is too late to divorce each other. They simply do not see a point in breaking up with each other and hence decide to stay put in a marriage for superficial reasons. Open marriages are viewed as a convenient model by some couples who want to stay put in the marriage for external reasons and to keep others happy. However, deep down they may have no real attachment with each other.
For the sake of familyA lot of couples end up marrying due to family and societal pressure, but later they realise they are not compatible with each other. However, they opt for open marriage just to create a facade for others that everything is hunky dory in their personal life. Whereas, on the other hand, they are open to seeing other people. Love between couples is lostA lot of people decide to stay put in marriage despite no love and affection between them, because they realise they have no other option or it is simply too late to walk out of a marriage. For the sake of childA lot of couples opt for open marriage because they do not feel connected to each other anymore. However, they have a child together and to keep the child happy and give them a normal life, a lot of couples decide to opt for open marriage even though they have mentally moved on from each other. They believe in polygamyIt is also possible that some couples inherently believe that people are not designed to be in monogamous relationships. This is why even after getting married, they decide to see each other people and are comfortable with the idea of open marriage. You may also like
