Program and Admission Details

The NID DAT 2025 MDes program is highly competitive, with approximately 15,000 candidates appearing annually for the Prelims, of which only 8–10% secure final seats. The MDes program is offered at three NID campuses, with specializations including Strategic Design Management, Textile Design, and Lifestyle Accessory Design, among others. Candidates were required to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) and portfolio for each discipline during the Mains stage, with specific guidelines on file size and format.

The merit list is prepared considering the weighted scores from both stages, and in case of a tie, higher ranks are assigned based on marks in Part B of DAT Prelims, followed by Part A, and then the Studio Test. If ties persist, candidates are assigned the same rank.

Next Steps for Candidates
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NID admissions portal for updates on counseling, document verification, and additional seat allotment rounds. Those not shortlisted in Round 1 may be considered in subsequent rounds, depending on seat availability. NID also cautions applicants to use only the official website (admissions.nid.edu) for all processes, as websites with “.org” or “org.in” domains are not affiliated with NID.

For queries, candidates can contact the NID Admissions Cell at:
