Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on April 14, 2022. Ever since, she has been vocal about her bond with her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor. In a recent chat, she called Ranbir’s mother the one person from the Kapoor family she really looks up to and loves.

While talking to Kareena Kapoor Khan on her chat show What Women Want, Alia was asked about the one person from the Kapoor family she really looks up to and loves a lot. Without hesitation, she took Neetu Kapoor’s name.

Alia shared her close bond with Neetu, saying their relationship naturally developed into a deep friendship over the past few years, especially in the last six months. Alia mentioned they recently took a trip to Paris, where Neetu proudly cheered for her during a fashion show. Alia stated, “She said, ‘I want to come to the show, and I'm so proud.’ When I was walking the ramp, she was cheering the loudest. I felt like I was back in school, seeing my mother over there.” Video

Reflecting on their connection, Alia recalled Neetu expressing her desire for the same beautiful friendship she had with her own mother-in-law. "You are my daughter-in-law, and I had the most beautiful friendship with my mother-in-law, and I want the same thing with you," Alia quoted Neetu.

Alia further praised Neetu for her positivity, especially during the difficult time when Rishi Kapoor was in the hospital. Despite receiving bad news, Neetu maintained a hopeful and positive outlook, which Alia admired. She acknowledged how challenging it was to stay strong during such moments. “I remember during the toughest time when Rishi uncle was in the hospital. We were getting bad news after bad news towards the end, but I remember her face being like, ‘Let’s hope for the best,’ keeping that positive spirit,” she mentioned. Alia believes Ranbir inherited this positive spirit from his mother.
