The latest reboot of the popular series ‘Daredevil’ saw Charlie Cox returning in his beloved role as the lead hero. The reboot, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, sees the character of Matt Murdock years after the events of the original series ‘Daredevil’. The show is also set one year after the vigilante dropped his mask and started defending people as a lawyer. In an interview, the lead actor recently shared more details about the show and what he liked or didn’t like about it as well.
Charlie Cox does not like episode 5 of his reboot seriesIn a recent interview with The Playlist, ‘Daredevil’ actor got candid about the reboot show and its episodes. While most of the series was reworked, much to Cox’s disappointment, the 5th episode of the season titled ‘With Interest’ did not face any changes or cuts.
The first draft of the series was mostly changed; however, this specific episode was kept the same. According to Cox, “I dunno if this is of interest, but I will say this: amongst all of this, there was one episode we didn’t change at all. It’s the episode in the bank, and that was part of the original [shoot]. We shot that before the strike. That was part of the original [draft], and just for my money, I wasn’t into it.”
He labelled the episode as his “least favourite” one out of the series and also shared more thoughts on why he was not pleased with that episode specifically. He shared that “I pushed back against it as much as I felt was possible. That feels like a 1970s game; there's too much technology these days for that to work. And also, I didn’t think the actual device used for the theft was sophisticated enough.”
He then shared that even though he was not keen on the release of that episode, he saw that a lot of viewers and fans of the show seemed to find it enjoyable enough. He stated that “I hear from so many people that they love that episode. So, it just goes to show you just don’t know. It’s so subjective. Everyone’s taste is different. And I’ve heard that that episode is one of the highest-rated. Internally, when they do their ratings, it’s one of the highest-rated Disney shows that they’ve had.”
