Jacob Walsh recently took to TikTok to share his experience of working at a funeral home in a video that has amassed over 30,000 views. “Ghosts — have I seen them? Have I experienced them? I’ve felt a presence — usually in the mortuary, which is completely understandable as it’s where people in my care are resting,” he began.

He shared how in his five-year experience, more and more consistent things had happened and he had "definitely felt people tapping me on the back." “If they’re tapping me on the shoulder, that just reassures me that I must be doing right by them.”

He added that he talks to the dead and greets them every morning and night. Additionally, when he is grooming and preparing them he informs them of that, saying, "If I’m shaving gentlemen, I’ll just say ‘I’m just going to get you underneath the chin or I’m going to trim your eyebrows a bit.'"

After a commenter asked what happens to a person's bowel movements when they die, Walsh shared the insight in another video.
“If your bladder or bowels are full when you die, you obviously relax when you pass, so it does happen.” He reassured them that they wash and shower the person before they dress and prepare them as it is a part of their duty when they take a person into their care.

Social media reactions
Many in the comments section appreciated Walsh's kind actions and words, writing, "Very compassionate and sensitively handled. Well done Sir!"
Another person, who had been married to an undertaker at a funeral home, shared her own experience writing, “I was married to an undertaker years ago, and we lived above the funeral home. I used to run through the mortuary with my eyes closed to get to the garage where my car was, never witnessed anything though.”
