Connor McDavid ’s wife, Lauren Kyle , is making waves in Edmonton’s design and fashion scene, stepping out from the shadow of hockey fame to showcase her own creative empire. The interior designer and entrepreneur took to Instagram this weekend to offer fans a sneak peek of the luxurious new bar and restaurant she’s opening in downtown Edmonton — and it’s already turning heads.

Lauren praises detailed craftsmanship at Bar Trove
In a series of Instagram Stories, Lauren unveiled parts of the intricate design process at her upcoming establishment, Bar Trove. She highlighted the newly installed crown molding, a detail she couldn’t help but rave over.

“Okay this crown went up today and it’s insannneeee,” she wrote, tagging the painting team at @evapainting and calling them “magicians.” Another shoutout followed: “Install by the best @hoecksteenconstruction,” acknowledging the construction crew responsible for the sleek wood cabinetry beneath the molding.

While fans were busy admiring the elegance, Lauren also kept things practical by sharing a job opening for a dishwasher at Bar Trove — signaling that the project is nearing its launch phase.

Fashion meets hockey with new Oilers-inspired collection
Beyond her bar venture, Lauren is continuing to expand her fashion brand, Sports Club Atelier . Earlier this month, she launched The Foundry Collection in partnership with the Edmonton Oilers — a perfectly timed drop during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The collection includes high-end western-inspired pieces like the $498 Cognac Orange Modern Rancher Jacket, a $329 Cream Canvas Utilitarian Jacket, and accessories like hats, socks, and even hair clips. Oilers fans got an up-close look at the pieces during a pop-up event Lauren hosted at Rogers Place during Game 3 of the playoff series against the LA Kings.

“BTS from our latest @sportsclubatelier launch!” she captioned a behind-the-scenes carousel, showing her directing models, posing near a red barn, and donning Oilers gear beside a vintage truck.
