Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has become wealthier than Virat Kohli , with his net worth now at Rs. 1,450 crore. This sudden increase is due to him being named the heir to the Jamnagar Royal Throne . Maharaja Jamsaheb of Nawanagar announced this decision on October 12.
The Jamnagar Royal Family has strong ties to cricket. Renowned cricket trophies, such as the Duleep Trophy and Ranji Trophy , are named after former cricketers KS Duleepsinhji and KS Ranjitsinhji, who were part of this royal lineage. Jadeja 's father, Daulatsinghji Jadeja , served as a member of parliament for the Jamnagar constituency three times.
The Maharaja expressed his positive outlook on Jamnagar's future, stating, “accepting to be his heir” and described Jadeja's decision as “truly a boon.”
Jadeja played for the Indian cricket team in 196 One Day Internationals (ODIs) during the nineties and early 2000s. He also participated in 15 Test matches for India between 1992 and 2000.
After retiring from cricket, Jadeja entered the entertainment industry with roles in films like "Khel" (2003) and "Pal Pal Dil Ke Ssaat" (2009). He also made a cameo in "Kai Po Che!" (2013) and competed in the first season of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa."
Ajay Jadeja’s new role as the heir to a royal throne marks a significant change in his life, leading to a notable increase in his wealth and expectations of a prosperous future.
