NEW DELHI: The first day of the India-New Zealand first Test in Bengaluru was rained out on Wednesday.
For the past 48 hours, Bengaluru has been battered by rain, and the next few days are expected to bring more rain.
AS IT HAPPENED
The umpires called off the day at 2:30 pm (0900 GMT) on Wednesday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium due to severe rain.
If it dries up, the toss is now scheduled for Thursday at 8:45 a.m.
The weather also affected the preparations for the first game of the three-Test series, as both sides' practices on Tuesday were canceled.
On October 24, the second Test kicks off in Pune, while on November 1, the third Test takes place in Mumbai.
