Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo , also known as the Greek Freak, has now shifted his focus to leaving behind a lasting legacy. Despite filling his cabinet with two MVP awards , an NBA championship , and a Finals MVP, he is now focused on leaving behind a lasting legacy. The Bucks forward recently opined that his mindset has shifted from chasing goals to sustaining excellence and building something that endures much beyond just individual accolades.

Giannis Antetokounmpo focused on legacy, not slowing down after years of dominance

In a message shared by the Milwaukee Bucks team’s official X account, Giannis Antetokounmpo said he remains hungry for more achievements despite everything he has already won.

“At this point, I’ve accomplished everything I’ve put my mind to. But no, I just want more,” he said.

He also explained that his focus is now on steady improvement and long-term preparation. “That’s step-by-step, you know, practice by practice, game by game, season by season. Just keep on stacking days, just keep on being consistent and available, and good things are going to happen. But you have to play to win. I don’t play to just be around or get paid. I play to win, I play to accomplish stuff on the court,” he added.

Last season, Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with an incredible average of 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. However, even after pairing with Damian Lillard, Milwaukee finished fifth in the Eastern Conference. It was ultimately eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers , marking their third consecutive early playoff exit.

Giannis Antetokounmpo returns to Milwaukee Bucks training camp after recovering from COVID-19

Notably, Giannis Antetokounmpo was seen attending the Milwaukee Bucks practice for the first time this season on Saturday. The Bucks star missed the first few days of training camp as he remained in Greece recovering from COVID-19.

Reflecting on his recovery, Antetokounmpo said, “I think it took a toll on my body. I’m not feeling 100% yet physically. Just taking it day by day, getting back in shape. I was able to do some 5-on-0, run up and down a little bit. Tomorrow I’ll be a little better. I’ve got like 18 days until the first game, so I think I’ll be fine.”

As Giannis Antetokounmpo enters his 13th season with the Milwaukee Bucks, the nine-time All-Star and NBA champion will be committed to improving and leading his team back to title contention.
