Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. placed on 10-day injured list while Jorbit Visas replaces him for time being

Amidst a heated baseball season, now, the New York Yankees have decided to place second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the 10-day injured list concerning his right oblique strain. The team has also decided who will be replacing him for the time being, while his medical reports suggest concerns.

What happened to Jazz Chisholm Jr.?


Yankees’ star Jazz Chisholm Jr. got injured while playing against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Chisholm was swinging, when later he dived into third base. Although Chisholm is hoping to avoid missing time, an MRI on Thursday has now revealed that it is enough concern for the team to make him rest for the time being. This decision became all the more official on Friday, but is retroactive to Wednesday, which means, that is when he was technically placed on the injured list.

Now, to replace Chisholm, the New York Yankees have decided that infielder Jorbit Vivas from their Triple-A team shall be replacing Chisholm for the time being.

Vivas has played well in the minors, and has a strong batting average and two home runs in 20 games. Depending on his medical condition and how fast he could heal, Chisholm might either return soon or he will be missing out. His team, however, has reacted very carefully to avoid making the injury worse.

Jazz Chisholm Jr says he will take a few days offAfter winning against Baltimore Orioles, the New York Yankees’ star, Jazz Chisholm Jr. said:

“I’m really not as concerned as everybody else, I feel pretty good. I’ve torn my oblique before, so I know it’s not torn or anything. I can cough without any pain. It was just to be cautious not to try to overdo it. I’d rather take two to three days off than six weeks.”

Now, depending on how severe the injury is, which the medical reports suggest it is, Chisholm could return soon Chisholm struggled a bit last month, but was 6-for-22 with a pair of extra-base hits in his last eight games.
