AMRAVATI: A visually challenged baby girl found dumped in a dustbin at Jalgaon railway station in Maharashtra over 25 years ago before she was rescued to a rehab home and went on to crack a highly competitive public service exam is now set to take up her first posting in Nagpur collector’s office .
Mala Papalkar had grabbed headlines by clearing Maharashtra Public Service Commission ’s (MPSC) clerk-cum-typist’s exam (Group C) in May last year. Three days ago, the 26-year-old received a letter informing her about her posting as a revenue assistant in Nagpur collectorate.
Mala is likely to report for work in the next 8-10 days after wrapping up formalities. Her posting was delayed a few months because of some procedural problems.
