PATNA/NEW DELHI: Speaking against the backdrop of support from important world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, PM Modi, while vowing retribution for the Pahalgam attack, also appeared confident of the support of the international community for his plan of action. "Everyone who believes in humanity is with us. I thank the people of various countries and their leaders who have stood with us in these times," Modi said.
Modi said the entire country was distressed, and crores of countrymen were saddened by the brutality with which terrorists killed innocent tourists.
"The entire country stands with the affected families in their grief. Govt is making every effort to ensure that family members who are currently undergoing treatment recover soon," he added.
Taking sips of water in the sweltering heat, the PM said in the terrorist attack, someone lost his son, someone lost his brother, someone lost his life partner.
He also referred to the linguistic diversity of the country, as he said, "Some of them spoke Bengali, some spoke Kannada, some were Marathi, some were Odia, some were Gujarati, some were sons of Bihar. Today, from Kargil to Kanyakumari, our grief is the same on the death of all of them; our anger is the same."
The PM concluded by saying that peace and security were the most important conditions for rapid development. "Developed Bihar is necessary for a developed India. It is the endeavour of all of us that there should be development in Bihar , and the benefits of development should reach every section and every region. I once again thank all of you for joining this programme on Panchayati Raj Day," he added.
