JAMMU: Police seized a heroin consignment weighing about 500 gms, suspected to have been dropped by a Pakistani drone, in a forward village close to the international border in Jammu & Kashmir's Samba district Saturday.
A police spokesperson said, "The consignment was lying in an open field at Chillyari village. The consignment, weighing about 498 gms, was seized. A search operation was launched in the area." An FIR has been registered under sections of NDPS Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at Ghagwal police station, he said.
BSF troops had foiled a similar attempt by intercepting a suspected Pakistani drone allegedly carrying 495 gms of narcotic substance on Dec 15 from the Chinaz border outpost area in Arnia sector.
