The Geeta colony's devotees on Thursday staged protests as they were in shock when they reached the artificial ghat to perform 'Sandhya Arghya' to worship the setting sun. They found their ghat without water. The protesters raised slogans against the Delhi government over the unavailability of water.

One of the protester said, "Why did they make all these arrangements if they were not going to give water? We could have celebrated the festival at home. We will take it to the streets if water is not provide."
Reacting to the delay of the water supply, BJP councilor Sandeep Kapoor said, "Providing water is the responsibility of the Delhi government, which didn’t supply any water until 4:30 pm. Afterward, I personally arranged for two tankers to fill the pond, but the Delhi government made no arrangements. The water arrived very late and was insufficient"
