Youth held for posting obscene videos of woman

Chandrapur: Bhiṣi police have arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman and posting her obscene videos on social media.

Police said the accused and the woman had been in a relationship for the past three years, during which he allegedly recorded explicit videos of her without her knowledge. He later used the clips to threaten her and coerce her into physical relationship. On August 9, the youth allegedly uploaded the videos on social media.

The woman approached Bhiṣi police along with her family after discovering the videos online. A team led by police inspector Mangesh Bhongade arrested the youth the same night.

Offence were registered against the youth under sections of BNS, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He has been remanded in police custody till August 12.
