Former Bachelorette contestant Josh Seiter has revealed that his recent announcement of being a transgender woman was a hoax. Seiter admitted in a new interview that he had been pretending to be transgender for several months as part of a "social experiment" aimed at exposing what he called the "gullibility" of the political left.
Seiter first came out as transgender in May 2024, initially claiming that the decision led to severe backlash. "I was greeted with death threats that made me fear for my safety all the time," he said. However, he has since disclosed that the entire experience was part of an orchestrated effort to challenge societal views on gender identity.
In an appearance on BlazeTV’s Prime Time with Alex Stein, Seiter explained his motivations. “I think a lot of trans women are turned on at the thought of themselves being women,” he claimed. “Guess what? It doesn’t magically make them women. We live in a free country, you can do whatever you want, but don’t make your fetish my truth. I don’t have to accept it.”
Seiter went on to describe how the idea for the hoax came about during conversations with friends. “We were discussing how men do not magically become women, and I said, let’s look at the medical literature. It says that trans people don’t have to transition or undergo surgery to be considered valid. I thought, ‘This is ridiculous.’ So I decided to prove how absurd it is by pretending to be trans.”
He concluded, “I was trans for five, six months to show how gullible and delusional the left is.”
At the start of the interview, Seiter appeared with a full face of makeup and a scarf in the colours of the transgender flag. He then dramatically wiped off the makeup during the broadcast, revealing his deception.
Seiter also compared being transgender to mental illnesses like schizophrenia, despite the American Psychiatric Association stating that neither gender dysphoria nor transgender identity is classified as a mental disorder.
