Priyanka Chopra's mother, Madhu Chopra, shared stories about her daughter's early years in the film industry, and media scrutiny. Coming from a non-bollywood background, Madhu and Priyanka had little idea of the kind of media attention that could affect them. But as negative pieces of news started coming in against Priyanka, it adversely affected their emotional state. Despite these odds, her confidence in Priyanka's skill and talent helped them sail through the rough time.
While talking on YouTube channel 'Breaking Stereotypes', Madhu recalled, "We were very new and came from a different industry. We had stars in our eyes, and we didn't think of it as a hell hole.". Such negative things never came to our mind when we came here". However, such optimism began to wane as Priyanka delved deeper into her acting career. They began to experience the darker side of the glamorous film world, which brought pain and discomfort during those early days.
According to Madhu, there was one point in time when Priyanka managed somehow to calm both Madhu as well as her father. "Priyanka sat us down and told us, 'Mom, you know me best. So why believe all that rubbish?' After that, everything became alright," she said. And with that, the family could now relax and continue their trust on Priyanka's talent as well as resilience.
Priyanka Chopra made her cinematic debut with the Tamil movie 'Thamizhan' way back in 2002, but soon proved her mettle in Bollywood with critically acclaimed performances in films like 'Don', 'Kaminey', 'Fashion', '7 Khoon Maaf', and 'Barfi'. Her success wasn't restricted to India; she also stepped into Hollywood space by singing the hits "In My City" and "Exotic." The actress has also appeared in several movies in the West: 'Baywatch', 'A Kid Like Jake', 'The Matrix Resurrections', and 'Love Again'.
Ahead, Priyanka has some exciting projects lined up in store, such as 'Head of State', co-starring Idris Elba and John Cena, and Frank E. Flowers' new film 'The Bluff'. For sure, in her journey Priyanka has proven herself to be tough and talented, and clearly proved her mom's faith in her is well-founded.
